Our litigation client is seeking an experienced Legal Accounts Payable/Receivable Specialist to support the accounting department including accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax reporting, bank deposits and internal reporting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Setting up new vendors in accounting software.
- Process vendor invoices, employee expense reports, firm and client charges, acquiring backup documentation and proper approval.
- Prepare and post daily deposits for multiple accounts.
- Maintain client trust accounts including deposits, payments, and monthly reporting and balancing.
- Month-end closing including general ledger reconciliations.
- Assist CPA in gathering of documents and information for preparation of tax returns and tax documents.
- Work closely with CEO and legal teams to manage cash flow, timely payment of vendor invoices and disbursement of client funds.
- Work closely with billing manager to ensure accuracy on client billing statements, resolving any discrepancies promptly.
- Ensure proper filing and accessibility of all related financial records for auditing purposes.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Experience in a law firm with law firm bookkeeping/accounting required.
- Minimum four years prior accounting experience, Accounts Payable and/or Billing experience preferred.
- Experience with Centerbase timekeeping and accounting software preferred.
- Ability to effectively communicate and work cooperatively with attorneys, clients, colleagues, and vendors; proactively demonstrate effective teamwork and provide assistance to others as time permits; analytic ability to apply knowledge to practical applications and to foresee possible problems and effective solutions.
- Very detail oriented with the ability to analyze problems and to problem solve as well as multi-task.
